Oh please more –
You promised me a lollipop
And I’d like to get it now.
You said you had a bag
A paper bag of red lollipops
I told you red was my favorite color.
I know, you said.

And I said wow a bag of red lollipops
What more could I want?
Here you are offering
Me a bag of red lollipops
Nothing but tasty
Sweet
Scrumptious
Red
Lolli
Pops.

Oh please more –
I know at the time,
The time when you offered,
I said I didn’t think I should
(maybe I said could)
And you told me you would be here
Holding that paper bag filled with red lollipops
For when the time might come.

But now the bag with the red lollipops
Cannot be found.

You say you never had a bag
Filled with lollipops.
